Call For Applications: Knust Food Innovation Competition – Food Festival 2026

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) invites innovators, entrepreneurs, students, and food enthusiasts to apply for the Food Innovation Competition as part of the KNUST Food Festival 2026.

Under the theme “Our Heritage on the Plate: Indigenous Foods for a Hunger-Free Future,” the competition seeks innovative ideas and products based on indigenous foods or commodities that promote sustainability, enhance food preservation, and have global or international appeal.

Applicants are encouraged to submit innovations that:

  • Are built on sustainability

  • Are home-adaptable to preserve or extend shelf life

  • Have the potential for global or international market appeal

Application Timeline

  • Application closes: 1st February 2026

  • Shortlisted applicants notified by COB: 5th February 2026

The grand event will take place on Friday, 13th February 2026, at the Royal Parade Ground, KNUST, starting promptly at 10:00 am.
